How to Set Up Your Poster Artwork
Follow these simple rules and your posters will print sharp and true to colour. Not sure your file is right? Send it anyway, every order includes a free artwork check.
Build to finished size
Set your document to the exact poster size, for example 594 × 841mm for A1. A print ready PDF is best.
Use enough resolution
Aim for 150dpi to 300dpi at final size. Posters viewed from further away can use the lower end.
Add bleed and margins
If colour runs to the edge, add 3mm bleed all round and keep text 5mm inside the trim. Bleed guide
Set colour to CMYK
Use CMYK where possible and avoid very bright RGB colours. Need a brand colour matched? Send a reference.
Bleed, trim and safe area
- Bleed, 3mm. Extend background colour and images past the edge.
- Trim line. Where your poster is cut to finished size.
- Safe area, 5mm. Keep text and logos inside this line.

Our largest standard size. Ideal for shop windows, exhibition walls, academic conference posters and anything that needs to be read from across a room.
A1 posters

A2 posters
A strong choice for counter displays, noticeboards, A board inserts and in store promotions where space is tighter.

The right material depends on where your poster is going. Indoors behind glass, outside in the rain or stuck straight onto a window all need something different, and we will steer you to the right choice.
Photo satin
Our most popular poster paper. Vibrant colour with low glare, so it reads well under shop and office lighting.
Photo gloss
Extra contrast and shine for bold promotional artwork and photography. Best where glare is not an issue.
Premium matt
A soft, natural finish with no reflections. Ideal for minimal designs, text heavy posters and academic posters.
Grey back poster
Waterproof with an opaque grey back, so nothing shows through. Made for outdoor sites, hoardings and window displays.
Vinyl banner material
Tough, tear resistant and weatherproof. Suits outdoor events, fences and anywhere a paper poster would not survive.
Self adhesive vinyl
Peel and stick posters for walls, windows and smooth surfaces. No frame, pins or tape needed.
Lamination
Adds protection against scuffs, fingerprints and moisture, for posters that will be handled or displayed for longer.
Mounted posters
Posters mounted onto rigid foamex or correx board for easels, exhibition stands and freestanding displays.

How much does poster printing cost in London?
Posters start from £9 + VAT for A4, £10 for A3, £11 for A2, £17 for A1 and £24 for A0, per poster. Waterproof materials, custom sizes and delivery are quoted separately. See our guide price table, or request a quote and we will confirm an exact price, usually within the hour.
What poster sizes do you print?
We print A4, A3, A2, A1 and A0 posters, plus custom sizes. Share your width and height in millimetres, centimetres or inches when you request a quote.
How quickly can I get posters printed?
Standard turnaround is 4 working days and priority is 2 working days. For urgent jobs, same day production is available on selected sizes and quantities when artwork is approved by 2pm, Monday to Friday.
Which poster paper should I choose?
Photo satin 200gsm is the best all round choice, with vibrant colour and low glare. Photo gloss adds contrast and shine, and premium matt 180gsm gives a soft, reflection free finish that suits text heavy and academic posters.
Do you print waterproof posters for outdoor use?
Yes. We offer 320mic grey back waterproof poster material, 440gsm vinyl banner material and 100mic self adhesive vinyl, all suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Do you print academic and conference posters?
Yes. We regularly print A0 and A1 research and conference posters. Premium matt is usually the best choice for readability, and our free artwork check makes sure text, charts and images print clearly.
Can you laminate or mount posters?
Yes. Posters can be laminated for extra protection, or mounted onto rigid foamex or correx board for easels and freestanding displays. Ask for finishing when you request a quote.
What file type and resolution should I send?
A print ready PDF built to the finished size is best. Aim for 150dpi to 300dpi at final size, include 3mm bleed if colour runs to the edge, and keep important text inside a safe margin.

Yes. Every order includes a free artwork check. Send what you have and we will flag any issues with size, bleed, resolution or colour before anything goes to print.
Can I order different sizes and designs in one order?
Yes. You can mix A0 to A4 and custom sizes in one order, with as many different designs as you need. Add the quantity and number of versions for each size in the quote form.
Do you deliver posters across London and the UK?
Yes. We deliver anywhere in the UK, with standard delivery included in our 4 working day turnaround. Same day delivery is available within London on urgent orders.
Can I collect my posters in person?
Yes. Collect from our studio at 14 Hendon Lane, Finchley, London N3 1TR, Monday to Friday, 09:30 to 18:00. We will let you know as soon as your posters are ready.
